Wine is good, its great, it add value to a meal, creates memories, can bring you back to when, with whom and what you were doing when you first tasted it, where you bought it, the time of the day, the season... so many things wine can bring you.
I have been keeping a personal inventory for a long time, using a local database from a Shareware program I found that works on the Apple Mac I use. Good program, great data is stored, integrates well other features and does more than I really need it to do at this time. However, it doesn't do one thing I really want, a way to create a webpage, or real time upload to a website. I was creating a PDF and keeping that on my site ( "The DevinFamily Wine Cellar" ) but it was getting to large a file, not easy to quickly see and no user defined sorting.
So I found a new site to accomplish my web upload. I still use my local database, but not I have to do double entry, which is a pain, but I will continue to do this until somebody creates what I want...
Here is the easy to view web version of "The DevinFamily Wine Cellar".
There is even a "Mobile Version of The DevinFamily Wine Cellar" to look up data on your Blackberry or Phone. NOW the coolest thing about the Mobile Version, aside from an easy way to see what you have in the cellar no matter where you are... is that your peronal NOTES are accesable, as well as a PRICE IT feature that takes the name of the wine and searches a website pricing index.
I don't have all the wine in this new web database just yet, it takes time to load all that data into the site (the site is simple, easy, free and has great potential to grow - I even asked the hosting developer for changes, he did them the next day - amazing). The local database I use, does not have an easy "export to file" option, otherwise I would have done this... another small problem with my local database.
"Wine is Good" site does most everything you need, I recommend it.
