A business friend of mine, who works with me at my company, was involved in an accident on January 2nd, 2007. Aaron Holm is the nicest coolest guy I have met in a long time and one I am proud to say i got the privilege and opportunity of meeting and getting to see his personality and heart... even if it was just a little insight to who he is, it was enough to know how special the guy is...
On January 2nd, he got a call to help his admin fix a flat tire, she was on the freeway in need of help, she is pregnant and needed someone; so Aaron, ever the Good Samaritan, guardian angel and the kind of guy that would do anything for you, rushed to help.
While between the two cars, another car ran into the back of his car and crushed him. His angel was wathcing over him, he live, but lost both legs. A young outgoing, athletic guy with a wonderful wife and 2 young kids...
48 hours later he is laughing, joking asking about work, his staff and is actually the core strength to his family - not to mention his wife and children are equally amazing in their support and love of Aaron.
I could not even imagine this kind of tragedy in my life, it makes any and all past pain and hard-ache, even if gathered up collectivel in a single bolt of lightening, that it would not compare or come close to this... the doctors would have to strap my hands down to keep me from pulling my own plug... I am not or would not be half the man that Aaron is...
There is a blog site of hope and encouragement that has been set up to monitor his progress and for people to send prayers and good wishes.
The biggest thing here, is life is short, precious and no one is immune to what it can dish out - Aaron will be okay, his personal courage and heart will carry him through and I believe he will go on to do things that will be a source for other people to look to for their strength... he is just that kind of guy. he will turn this around, find the silver lining.
Even if you don’t know Aaron, you can send him a note, a prayer... he can use it and is the kind of man that you want to support.
A source of inspiration, Aaron Holm.
